President's Message

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the National Health Museum and thank you for taking time to learn about our uncommon vision and exciting plans.

We aim to create a unique place where individuals can learn about their own health and the health of their families, share in the mystery and discovery that is cutting-edge science, and appreciate the links between their own health and the global connections they share with one another. Visitors will be able to "try out" and "try on" different health challenges through interactive "what if I " exhibits, and they will leave the Museum with resources to continue to learn and explore matters of science and health important to them and relevant to their daily lives. Above all, it will be a place where kids and their families will come to have enjoyavble, memorable experiences.

Teachers and students will also have an open invitation to the Museum. Our special, personal commitment to the educators who work in the K-12 arena is central to our mission. The critical role they play in turning kids on to health science cannot be understated. Through both on-site and web-based programs, we will offer educators the resources and opportunities to keep up-to-date with scientific and medical discovery. They will be able to explore new teaching strategies and try out new skills and technologies designed to work in classrooms across the country.

The website you are visiting is itself a work in progress. As we move forward to more fully harness the power of the Web and create a true CyberMuseum that will advance our educational mission, we would appreciate your feedback about those efforts.

Thanks for your interest. Stay tuned and stay in touch!

Sincerely,
David H. Roland
President
